Job Description
A Field Diesel Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
- Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of equipment;
- Must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
- Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
- Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment - Demonstrated mechanical background knowledge of various engines
Must own tools applicable to position
Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs on a regular basis
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Successful completion of relevant trade school program
