SMX is seeking an AWS Database Administrator responsible for the administration and management of all AWS-based databases. This includes the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases, as well as the monitoring and optimization of database performance. The AWS Database Administrator will also work with other IT staff to ensure that databases are compliant with company policies and regulations.
The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Joint Program Office (JPO) Failure Reporting, Analysis and Correction Action System (FRACAS) is a vital program to aviation data integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based databases.
+ Able to work in a remote environment and deliver daily updates on accomplished tasks and report status to Program Manager/Director.
+ Monitor and optimize database performance.
+ Work with other IT staff to ensure database compliance.
+ Troubleshoot database problems.
+ Perform backups and restores of databases.
+ Stay up to date on the latest AWS database technologies.
Required Skills:
+ Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and approved for a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC)
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or 7+ years of experience in database administration
+ Experience with AWS relational database services
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
+ Proficient in SQL for AWS RDS
+ Experience with AWS management tools
+ Experience with cloud computing
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
