Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.
The Office of the Registrar is currently seeking to fill the position of Admissions and Records Assistant to provide personalized service to students and other clients of the University, and serve as the primary source of information for clients inside and outside the University who contact the Service Center.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responds to walk-in clients by transmitting factual information, explaining University policy and procedures, clarifying University documents, resolving student problems, referring clients to appropriate University offices or taking appropriate action.
Performs registration, schedule changes, withdrawals and tuition calculations, processes student ID cards and debit plan deposits using the computerized student information system and other computer-based applications.
Assists clients in requesting and completing a wide variety of University forms including schedule changes, withdrawals, transcript requests, applications for graduation, application for admission, name and permanent address changes, etc. and reviews documents for completeness and accuracy.
Assists clients in the use of Cougar Net, including resetting of PINs.
Answers telephones by answering many inquiries from personal knowledge, referring calls to appropriate individuals or offices, or taking other appropriate action.
Performs data entry for a variety of documents and codes data using a complex coding system.
Scans and links documents into document imaging, files and sorts documents, collects information for recurring or monthly reports and assists with notification to faculty and students including preparation of mailing materials.
