Job Description
AGM Transport (Joliet, IL) seeks a Truck Driver to operate a commercial heavy-duty truck and transport dry-van freight from US to Canada and back. Specific duties include: inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues; make sure freight is safely secured in trailer; plan routes and meet delivery schedules; document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts; comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures; maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions; communicate with shippers and receivers; collect and verify delivery instructions; communicate with office staff and dispatch; submit proof of delivery; report defects, accidents or violations. Number of hours worked and off-duty periods must be in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Must have CDL Class A or able to obtain it within 45 days of hire. Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Employee will be based in Joliet, IL at the company's headquarters. Position requires regular cross-border travel and driving throughout the United States and Canada.
Position requires 1 year of experience in the job offered, or as a Truck Driver, or in a similar position operating long-distance commercial truck. Specific experience must include: using trucking GPS; working with a mobile express application to receive load information; working with a scanning application to submit proof of delivery; performing Pre-Trip inspection. Number of hours worked and off-duty periods must be in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Must have CDL Class A or able to obtain it within 45 days of hire. Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
