Job Description
SUMMARY
The National Accounts Director (NAD) will report to the Head of Trade, Distribution & Payer Relations, within the Patient, Value & Access (Market Access) division of the US Oncology Business Unit. The NAD will be responsible for leadership and management of select national and sub-national payer and other assigned accounts. This individual will manage all aspects of payer, pathway, and other engagements and negotiations for respective accounts and contribute to the collective NAD team strategy in order to ensure the appropriate coverage of Takeda’s commercial oncology products. Responsibilities will require cross-functional collaboration and agility to stay ahead of the evolving oncology payer market.
This position is field-based and will have national coverage responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Positively influencing decision makers, policies, guidelines and contracts to facilitate timely access to approved oncology therapies.
+ Maintain, broaden, and deepen relationships on behalf of Takeda with target entities (e.g., PBM’s, payers, pharmacy and medical directors, etc.) that affect coverage and reimbursement decisions.
+ Identifying and reporting payer trends and competitive insights back to leadership
+ Gain and grow understanding of both National and sub-National payer landscapes.
+ Work cross-functionally, both proactively and reactively, to mitigate and/or remove access barriers
+ Represent Takeda’s interests at industry events.
+ Maintaining the utmost standards of professionalism and compliance in all internal and external engagements.

EXPERIENCES
Required
+ National PBM / Payer account management
+ 8+ years of experience in the biotech / pharma / payer industry
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Successful outcomes from negotiations with industry-standard national accounts
+ Negotiations for complex payment, reimbursement and value-based agreements
+ History of securing appropriate access positions for specialty or rare disease products
Preferred
+ Master’s degree in business, finance, healthcare or relevant field
+ Oncology therapy products
+ New product launch
Licenses/Certifications:
+ Preferred: PharmD, MBA, MD, BCOP
Travel Requirements:
+ Field-based position: 30%-60% (combined account & HQ)
