Job Description
Develops knowledge and competency in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and professional development practices.
Evaluates personal practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, and relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
Implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings.
Assesses clinical skills of staff and provides learning opportunities to advance clinical competencies and decision-making skills of staff and documents competencies.
Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
Facilitates professional role development.
Actively works to assist in transformation processes at the unit/area level, utilizing project management and improvement processes.
Program lead for Comprehensive Crisis Management within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Other job functions as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, recreation therapy, or social sciences is required. Clinical licensure is preferred.
Minimum one year of experience managing agitated and aggressive patients is required.
Minimum of two (2) years of work experience or internship completion in a health care, child welfare or mental health setting is required.
Experience working with children and families is required.
Basic Life Support certification required from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
