Job Description
JOB DUTIES: Work with vendors and engineering partners to identify operational equipment and automation solutions, build business cases, and recommend new technologies. Analyze movement data to determine order profiles, storage media application, product slotting, velocity, SKU affinities, and ABC analysis. Provide subject matter expertise on current and new physical automation technologies. Develop alternatives for process, equipment application, and system design to optimize end-to-end solutions and lower costs. Implement continuous system improvements by coordinating the activities of vendors, internal resources, and operations. Maintain responsibility for return on investment analysis and ensure that implemented systems are meeting designed goals. Provide insight into our processes and functions that affect our direct and indirect operating costs. Manage material handling vendors through design, scheduling, permitting, installation, commissioning, punch lists, etc. Validate all equipment installation and function, including necessary testing of automated material handling equipment. Effectively communicate relevant project information to stakeholders. Adhere to budget, schedule, design and coordinate a wide variety of logistics improvement projects. Oversee vendor performance (timing, schedule and budget). Provide technical troubleshooting and ongoing support strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering and Management, Supply Chain Automation, or related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, as Solutions Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or related. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience. Full term of experience must include each of the following: Multi-facility distribution operations and automation solutions; View and understand CAD drawings; Warehouse data analytics; Analyze and summarize data, and effectively communicate results; Identify and analyze Capital, Expense, and Lease budgets for project requirements; Use Smart Sheet and MS Office Tools to create implementation schedules; Understand and apply data analysis visualization tools including SQL, Tableau, and Power BI; and, Understand and apply material handling equipment based on warehouse product profiles. 40% domestic travel required.
