Job Description
The Material Handling Foreperson will oversee shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced foreperson to coordinate operations and oversee workers at numerous sites. As the liaison between workers and site supervisors, the foreperson will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses, training, and employee safety. The ideal applicant will have a solid background in the field, strong leadership skills and the ability to direct work of others and make quick decisions. The foreperson must be well-organized and strongly focused on safety.Supervisory Responsibilities: Trains and manages employees on site. Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the site. Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites. Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to supply delivery and personnel. Monitor and manage project budgets on all sites. Ability to read and explain install drawings to site staff. Assures all installations are accurate as per engineering designs.Duties/Responsibilities: Oversees operations on assigned shift. Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations. Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment. Ensures that material delivered to sites are per spec and as per bill of materials. Troubleshoots issues that arise. Ensures safe operation of lift equipment on site. Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly. Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities: (Racking, Conveyance, Sortation, Mezzanines, Pick Modules and ASRS) Relevant experience managing labor staff on material handling systems installation projects. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn operations, processes and requirements. Excellent supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Must be OSHA certified. Bilingual in English and Spanish required.Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior exceptional work experience with the company preferred.Physical Requirements: Must be able to traverse the production facility. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
