THE OPPORTUNITY

This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the ARDx Global Division.

The person hired in this role will be an established professional with the necessary skills to perform Sr. IT Quality and Compliance Specialist activities in support of Division QA RA IT systems. The Sr. IT Quality and Compliance Specialist supports IT internal and external audits, quality and compliance operations and provides leadership and direction to the remediation and readiness personnel on IT quality and compliance responsibilities.

+ Manage all phases of quality and compliance audits of IT systems audits from audit readiness, to observation evaluation, to follow-up and remediation in cooperation with the responsible BRMs and their teams.

+ Understands corporation’s vision, goals, and strategies, and aligns department priorities appropriately, determines critical success factors.

+ Drives IT audit and compliance readiness and monitoring activities against the IT integrated controls framework and applicable quality/compliance requirements.

+ Responsible for implementing changes driven by changes in policy and disseminating impact of changes through the IT organization and tool sets.

+ Acts as a liaison for the IT organization for all quality and compliance related monitoring activities.

+ Drives IT compliance risk remediation and process improvement for the assigned region/domain.

+ Uses a qualitative and quantitative metrics-driven approach to drive IT compliance priorities.

+ Evaluate scope of planned activities for assigned audits and align with integrated controls framework and applicable quality/compliance requirements.

+ Assist the IT organization by assessing their compliance level for all key processes and in the development and implementation of associated remediation plans.

+ Establish and maintain productive relationships with audit, compliance, and IT stakeholders including external partners.

+ Champion change, innovation, and process thinking; open to new ideas for global solutions.

+ Identifies and executes on need for update and/or improvement to the integrated controls framework based on monitoring trends and/or control environment changes.

+ Evaluates and prioritizes remediation activities and execute risk acceptance process where appropriate.

+ Practices appropriate risk-based root cause analysis methodology that considers the organization’s strategic direction and priorities.

+ Works with IT to deploy new compliance processes, solutions, and controls to address remediation priorities. May have indirect team responsibility.

+ Represents Compliance on process improvement and remediation initiatives.

+ Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels in the Abbott IT organization, division business functions and with external partners.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or another discipline relevant to IT and the Healthcare industry. Or the equivalent of years of experience and education combined with HS diploma.

+ 5 or more years of experience in IT compliance, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Ability to explain and present complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

+ 3 or more years of quality and regulatory compliance experience with healthcare, medical diagnostics, or similar experience.

+ Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), quality management review (QMR), hosting and supporting quality audits, supplier management, training management, CAPA knowledge and demonstration of understanding of computerized software life cycle including privacy and cybersecurity aspects.

+ Have an IT Quality and or compliance background, be a self-directed individual with good project management and good written and verbal communication skills in English; be comfortable working with managerial and technical professionals worldwide.

+ 7 or more years of experience in a similar blended role including large enterprise experience.

The base pay for this position is $90,700.00 – $181,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
