Job Summary
Patrick Engineering, a RINA company, is seeking a talented bridge engineer to fill the role of Bridge Project Engineer. As the Bridge Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design development, project documentation, and quality of the project deliverables. In this role, you will assist in determining appropriate design approaches, perform design engineering and prepare drawings, and oversee the preparation of the technical deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for designs, CAD drawings, and specifications on assigned projects, under the guidance/direction of Project Manager Work with other engineers on a project team, maintaining effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients
Coordinate with drafters, designers, and staff engineers within project team
Accountable for design calculations and plan development
Complete drawings/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule; review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability
Develop conceptual and basic engineering documents including studies, design criteria, equipment specifications, etc.
Utilize computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
Assist in bridge inspections and site visits
Document field data using photos, measurements, and notes
Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly
Other duties as assigned
Professional Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Structural Engineer (SE) license required
4+ years of experience in the design of highway transportation structures
Experience working on multi-discipline projects required
Demonstrated ability to work within scope, schedule, and budget
Knowledge of common client standards, design practices, and procedures
Proficiency in MicroStation required
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Additional Requirements
Valid driver's license required; position requires occasional use of fleet vehicle, personal vehicle, and/or rental vehicle for business-related travel
15% travel (i.e. job sites) may be required based upon business need
