Renewables Project Manager


Job Summary


The Renewables Project Manager serves a key role to a confidential renewable energy client for the planning, design, and construction of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery storage, and cryptocurrency mining). The Renewables Project manager is an experienced and collaborative project manager who works alongside other professionals and client's staff and provides subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, planning, contracting, design and/or construction of renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities include research, bid review and contract negotiation, concept development, planning, design oversight and construction management. Under the direction of client staff, the Renewables Project Manager provides situational guidance to the project team that addresses current and future challenges, and documents, recommends and accurately accounts for risk, innovation, and future-ready opportunities. They provide leadership while ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality and safety that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design and construction.

Multiple positions may be hired. Positions to be based in Chicago, IL and will require travel to project sites as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Coordinate advanced professional engineering in connection with major projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously: Oversee facilities investigation and assessment and preparation of facilities conditions reports utilizing client mandated reporting processes.

Lead coordination and review of contractor's bids and request for clarification process in collaboration with the client's procurement team.
Work collaboratively with different disciplines during design development, including: Geotechnical,
Civil Engineering and Survey,
Renewables,
Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, and
Substation Engineering.

Coordinate and oversee the preparation of design documents utilizing QA/QC policy and all applicable client standards and code requirements: Preliminary reports and design concepts,
Scope development and preparation of cost estimates,
Planning, scheduling, and design coordination, and
Final engineered plans, specifications, and estimated costs for projects.

Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including specifications and drawing preparation: Review and help to ensure production and quality standards are achieved by junior team members.
