 Position Summary
The Dean is the front-line student success champion supporting students and faculty within an academic division. The Dean will assist the leadership in the development, implementation, and assessment of courses and academic programs designed to serve students. This position is responsible for aligning the division with the college-wide strategic plan and for encouraging and providing innovation and collaboration with faculty and other college areas.
 Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of academic programs and courses in collaboration with faculty and staff to ensure they are current, effective, producing successful graduates, and aligned with the mission of the college and the needs of students.
Schedule and manage course offerings to meet student needs and allow students to achieve their academic goals in a timely fashion in various instructional formats.
Ensure the effective use of technology and best practices in learning and teaching by encouraging and supporting faculty's professional development
Make data informed decisions and recommendations to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Workforce Development regarding hiring, scheduling, budgeting, and equipment.
Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate all division employees, including full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff in support of division mission and goals
Champion and support college and divisional initiatives including but not limited to community and industry outreach, college and career readiness, student success, and retention initiatives
Develop and support the college and division's enrollment goals and be accountable for achieving them.
Develop the annual divisional and departmental budget based on institutionally aligned strategic and operational goals. Adhere to college purchasing and accounting processes.
Build and maintain partnerships among faculty, staff, administration, and the community including business, industry, four-year colleges and universities, and the K-12 schools.
Ensure that active and qualified advisory boards exist for career programs in the division to assess programs' relevance to community and workforce needs
Seek out, implement, and maintain articulation agreements with four-year college and K-12 schools. Validate transfer criteria for courses and academic offerings to other colleges and universities
Research, recommend, and provide administration of appropriate grants to support division's program development, equipment, and students.
Act as the liaison with appropriate state committees and departments, other agencies, organizations and institutions relative to the division's programs
Serve on various College committees and shared governance activities
Conduct disciplinary investigations of student and faculty misconduct and take appropriate action according to college policies and procedures
Support and participate in the College's commitment to continuous improvement
Provide administrative and oversight over the Black Box Theater and Art Gallery
Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
 Required Qualifications

Appropriate qualifications from a regionally accredited institution to teach in one of the division's disciplines
Evidence of increasing levels of administrative responsibilities
Experience with employee evaluation
Two years of leadership experience either in directly managing employees or in a project management role
