We are currently seeking to fill the role of Community Development Relationship Manager reporting directly to the Capital Markets Executive. The Community Development Relationship Manager will achieve ONB's increased participation in complex, sustainable, significant community development projects benefiting low-income communities within the ONB footprint.
Key Accountabilities
Achieve Production Targets
Implement specific strategies for lending and investment to low- or moderate-income (LMI) communities through direct lending, or supporting key relationship managers lending, within ONB underwriting requirements.
Act as lead banking agent to coordinate multiple creditors, grant providers and equity into a unified provision of lending and investing for qualifying projects, coordinating with the Tax Credit Group. Qualifying projects will provide critical infrastructure to ONB served communities which are primarily serving LMI areas, targeted redevelopment areas or supply critical community needs.
Partner with ONB's Outreach team to identify, develop, and maintain relationships with community partners to serve community investment and lending needs.
Have a deep understanding of Federal, State, and local incentives across the ONB footprint.
Interact with municipalities, developers, non-profits to assess projects and their community support, determine proper financial resources and align interests to maximize stable, sustaining community assets.
Develop deep relationships with State economic development agencies, understand the State economic development objectives and strategically align ONB relationship managers to facilitate projects which support such objectives, through education, structuring and guidance to qualified legal counsel.
Develop lending and investing strategies and relationships with CDFI's, CDCs, SBICs.
Willingness to travel across ONB footprint for site visits, business development and building relationships
Communication and Departmental Development
Partner with ONB's Treasury group to facilitate and manage investments in LMI-based mortgage-backed securities, municipal bonds with a primary purpose of benefiting LMI individuals, and relevant manage fund investments benefiting ONB's CRA Community Development Investments.
Work with an interdisciplinary group, achieve targeted outcomes of lending and investing supporting ONB CRA Community Development efforts.
Serve as a resource to Commercial Credit and to RM's to secure affordable housing projects, assisting in examining complex lending structures, underwriting to project cashflow, and supporting financing gaps with alternative resources.
Identify, train and equip key relationship managers within the ONB footprint to provide close and monitor construction and tax credit equity bridge loans to Tax Credit projects, optimizing alignment with ONB lending and investment credit objectives.
