MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Jr. Analyst’s primary responsibility is to conduct audits/assessments of Abbott’s sites to evaluate compliance with relevant government and corporate policies/procedures; formulate recommendations for improvement in operating performance and controls, ensuring that proper and timely corrective actions are implemented. In addition, the Jr. Analyst will analyze import/export data and trends to identify areas of potential risk for the corporation; and establish/strengthen internal control requirements. The Jr. Analyst will also be the owner of the data related to classifications, COO, FTA, and licensing.
Must have ability to work efficiently, while possessing excellent organizational and planning skills and the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under the pressures of a deadline.
What You’ll Do
+ Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
+ Conduct effective and timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records. Includes researching and documenting value, delivery, broker accuracy for US imports and/or ensuring export filings include correct POE, value, an other export related requirements.
+ Applies basic working knowledge of import/export regulations and requirements to support business needs.
+ Ensure timely and accurate response to Broker Requests for Information and follow-up to ensure resolution.
+ Assist site trade manager and trade team in completing HTSUS and/or ECCN classifications and addressing import and export compliance issues related to 19 CFR and 15 CFR. Includes researching product information and applying the correct HTSUS, ECCN and country of origin.
+ Interface with related functional areas (logistics, finance, purchasing, materials management, etc.) on customs matters.
+ Conduct effective and timely transactional review/audit of all import/export records. Elevate issues requiring correction to Corporate C&TC
+ Provide analytical support to general import/export-related projects as needed.
+ Maintain and update site Item Master Log; work with site/division regulatory to ensure accuracy and completeness of FDA product codes and affirmation of compliance codes.
+ Personally educate self on latest Customs, FDA, and other government agency import regulations
+ Operates with general direction and supervision from the Supervisor/Manager or Senior Analyst.
+ This position handles day-to-day issues and core job responsibilities independently and involves the Supervisor/Manager when needed.
+ This employee must have the ability to analyze data and identify compliance risks and opportunities that may impact the divisional financial objectives.
+ The Junior Analyst will be privy to highly confidential financial information and must work within the scope of attorney/consultant and client privilege, where deemed appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree: Business, Logistics or other related field
+ Minimum 1-3 years experience in import/export operations, transportation, international business, or other related field.
+ Sound analytical abilities and acute attention to detail required.
+ Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are absolutely critical for this position
Preferred Qualifications
+ Prior global logistics experience in the freight forwarding area is a plus
+ Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
+ Import or export experience
+ Computer skills, knowledge of Excel.
+ Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and manage time appropriately and independently

The base pay for this position is $51,300.00 – $102,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
