Job Description
PROJECT CREW – WELDER / FABRICATOR / MAINTENANCE
Welding/ Fabricating / Trouble Shooting complex plant machinery. Work from blueprints, maintenance manuals, and instructions to weld, build, and repair complex manufacturing equipment to decrease down time vie equipment modification, layout adjustments. Pipefitting. Welding, Maintenance and Fabrication experience are very helpful.

Essential Duties-
+ Perform high quality layouts, welding, fabrications, pipe fitting, foundations, and electrical/hydraulic installations for complex mechanical systems.
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide variety of equipment such as HVAC, furnaces, quench tanks, cranes, or building utility systems (gas, air, water, & electric).
+ Assembly/Dis-assembly/repair of various types of plant equipment: presses, furnaces, quench tanks, cranes, mobile equipment, auxiliary equipment, building, and building mechanicals.
+ Extensive use of welding equipment, drills, saws, micrometers, calipers, tape measure, forklifts, man lifts, mobile and overhead cranes,
+ Repair or modify plant equipment or facility from detailed drawings and written or verbal instructions.
+ Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities, check equipment function and operation, and recommend or perform required maintenance action.
+ Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment is required to perform duties. pneumatic tools, grinders, torches, plasma cutter, carbon arc and various other hand tools are required. Occasional use of machine tools (mills & lathes), computers, diagnostic equipment, and specialized tools. Job requirements include the manufacturing of specialized tools/jigs/fixtures for assembly and disassembly purposes.
+ Install and repair fiber and refractory in furnaces.
+ Assist in project planning and organization to install or relocate equipment and facility systems.
+ Communicate production and equipment problems to appropriate personnel. Instruct and train less experienced workers within the department.
+ Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
+ Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
+ Job requires travel to all plant locations and cooperation with various plant personnel to complete projects as required.

Qualifications:
+ High school diploma/GED
+ Ability to perform frequent lifting up to 65 lbs
+ Minimum of 1 year experience in metal fabrication
+ 3+ years of experience in layout, welding, fabrication and equipment operation
+ Advanced mechanical skills- welding and fabricating with an emphasis on plant systems
+ Proficient in blueprint reading and shop math.
+ Proficient with heavy mobile equipment, crane operation, and rigging
+ Welding certification or equivalent (preferred)
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:+ Exposed to radiant heat, fumes, extreme temperature conditions, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals/materials, and high noise levels.
+ Use of respirator for extended period of time.
+ Use of fork lifts, grinders, stamping tools, overhead cranes, computer, tool crib machines, and hand tools.
