Overview
Group O has an immediate opening for a Shipping Associate. The Shipping Associate is responsible for managing the preparation and completion of outbound shipments.
Responsibilities
Primary Tasks:
- Monitoring shipping queue
- Contacting carriers to plan for outbound shipments
- Creating and submitting advanced shipping notices (ASNs)
- Preparing documentation for outbound shipments
- Generating required shipping documentation for loads to be shipped
- Driving compliance with requirements for export shipments
- Generating shipping labels
- Monitoring compliance with client shipping requirements
- Posting outbound shipping transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Reporting discrepancies between planned and actual outbound shipping transactions
- Performing the following tasks related to completion of outbound shipments:
- Picking inventory
- Packaging and labeling materials for shipment
- Inspecting materials to be shipped
- Loading materials to carriers
- Reporting on discrepancies and quarantining materials as necessary
- Completing documentation and reports for outbound shipments
Secondary Tasks:
- Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- High school degree or equivalent (Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred)
Training:
- RF scanning equipment
- Shipping work instructions
Skills:
- Flexibility in daily hours worked based on workloads
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail
Experience:
- Clerical experience
Desired Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic user abilities in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn and work with Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) software
- Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
