Job Description:

Responsible for supporting the ongoing development, maintenance, and implementation of the company’s Change Management framework. Provides tactical leadership to coordinate and execute the annual Change Management Policy refresh while partnering with stakeholder groups to help define the strategic roadmap for Change Management, including embedding enterprise risk assessment activities. Provides effective challenge of Enterprise Change Management activities and supports risk assessment of new initiatives.

Responsible for executing and supporting various risk management activities and initiatives within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Engages collaboratively with business and risk partners to enhance their risk management practices by providing effective challenge and executing on the ERM framework. Will work closely with Senior Manager, ERM with frequent interaction with Director, ERM. Will support all ERM routines but primary focus will be on supporting continuous enhancements to and execution of the strategic risk management framework; the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk management framework; and change management oversight. Will also support ad hoc requests of ERM from Management, Regulators, or business partners. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities

+ Executes change management oversight routines across the enterprise to validate whether key change management routines are being followed. This will include effective challenge of the risks identified, controls developed, and governance routines established for the initiative, as well as the impact of the initiative on the overall risk profile of the institution, both during and after the change.

+ Supports strategic risk management routines, including evaluating new initiatives for strategic risk, developing strategic risk reporting, and providing effective challenge to business partners throughout the execution of their strategic plans.

+ Contributes to the ongoing development of ESG risk management routines by partnering with ESG stakeholders to embed risk and control considerations into ESG processes.

+ Works constructively and collaboratively with others to accomplish timely resolution of requirements, findings, limit breaches and leadership objectives, or support ad hoc ERM tasks for leadership, regulators, or other stakeholders.

+ Supports the end-to-end update, review and challenge of the firm’s risk identification and risk appetite/KRI framework in collaboration with other 1st and 2nd line teams. Helps to facilitate the DFS quarterly risk profile reporting cycle in tight coordination with risk leadership to assess changes to risk profile as a result of changes to internal and external environment for presentation to executive management and board of directors.

+ Performs continuous improvement activities, including identifying and proposing process improvements, building automated or semi-automated tools to support routines, using analytics to understand themes and trends across risk types, and conducting industry research to identify better practices to support ERM.

+ Supports the development, maintenance, and implementation of a coherent set of DFS’s ERM standards including policy, risk appetite and KRI standards, issues management standards and other bespoke risk management frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

+ 6+ years of experience in Risk management experience in a financial institution (or as a consultant within the financial services industry) with specific focus on enterprise risk management, operational risk management, internal audit, or other related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Accounting.

+ 2+ years of risk management experience in a financial institution specifically focused on one of the following: strategic risk, change management, or ESG.

+ RIMS – Certified Risk Management Professional.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
