Job Description

The Insurance Business Development Associate works closely with senior sales professionals and relationship managers, providing day to day support in their sales and relationship management goals. Associates are product generalists as they may support sales teams specializing in assets classes or teams that are product generalists. Working independently under limited supervision, this job assists in identifying target clients, executing product sales and managing client relationships and development.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

+ Works with senior sales and relationship managers by providing sales and relationship management support on a daily basis, and provides services to clients to strengthen relationships to drive continuous service improvements, focusing on asset retention.

+ Coordinates targeted outreach campaigns and assists with additional sales and cross-selling initiatives in the Insurance space.

+ Utilizes applications of customer relationship management and business development research for meeting preparation, activity and pipeline capture, to run competitive analysis of products.

+ Utilizes applications such as Sales Force, S&P Capital IQ, and Preqin for meeting preparation, activity & pipeline capture, to run competitive analysis of products.

+ Creates and contributes to development of intellectual capital and analytics for engagement with U.S. insurance companies, based off of statutory filing and public disclosures

+ Maintains knowledge of the team’s assigned territory business plans, client service plans and marketing campaigns, as well as specialized product knowledge.

+ Monitors industry trends and opportunities by reviewing industry publications, and contributes to overall Insurance team with sales and client service ideas, best practices and learned industry knowledge.

Educational Requirements

+ University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

+ 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

FINRA Registrations

+ SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

Physical Requirements

+ Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work

Qualifications

Required:

+ Minimum of 3 years asset management industry experience, specifically inbusiness development support

Preferred:

+ 5+ years of asset management industry experience, specifically in business development support

+ FINRA Series 7 & 63, can be obtained within 3 months

+ Bachelor’s Degree

+ Interest in pursuing MBA, CFA, or CAIA.

+ Background in institutional business development sales or financial services preferred

+ Strong communication and presentation skills.

+ Flexible and highly adaptable.

+ Able to work multiple projects simultaneously.

+ Technologically proficient and knowledgeable

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $88,900/yr. – $138,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
