As a Building Automation Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of building automation systems. Your focus will be on Direct Digital Controllers (DDC) and Tridium Niagara-based platforms. Here are the key responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Program Development:
- Install and configure programs within Direct Digital Controllers (DDC).
- Program and commission DDC systems, ensuring they meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturer recommendations.
- Conduct “Point to Point” verification to validate system functionality.
Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs):
- Collaborate with the graphics coordinator to design graphical displays within project parameters.
- Create user-friendly interfaces based on design and contractual obligations.
System Validation and Troubleshooting:
- Inspect and validate systems.
- Assist with panel building.
- Troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules.
- Interpret blueprints, building schematics, and DDC controls drawings.
Customer Support:
- Provide support to building owners and operators regarding system operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the Controls engineer of record to create as-built drawings.

Skills and Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience in the Building Automation Industry.
- HVAC and/or mechanical system experience.
- Strong DDC/System Programming skills.
- Proficiency with Tridium Niagara-based BMS systems (AX and N4).
- Knowledge of HVAC controls and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interface with clients, engineers, and property managers.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits.
- Familiarity with ACAD/Visio is a plus. null
