Job Description

Senior Experience Designer for The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. in Chicago, IL, to prototype and design user interfaces for visually-compelling, intuitive, and responsive digital products for business clients. Specific duties include: collaborate with researchers, engineers, business consultants, and other designers to define product requirements that align with business and user needs, inform product strategy and design requirements, and create world-class designs for clients and brands that cross domains and industries; partner with researchers when conducting user research to analyze, synthesize and communicate findings, and translate these findings into new human-centered user experiences; translate ideas into low fidelity wireframes that can be validated with users through ethnographic research methods and advanced iteratively; design high fidelity user interfaces for digital products, including app and web applications, from interactions and motion to fonts and grids, and create digital prototypes; articulate design decision rationale to external clients and business stakeholders based on research and value; and partner with tech teams, including engineers and developers, throughout the development cycle, provide clear documentation, and review work to ensure alignment with design specifications. Requires: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience as a Graphic Designer, Interaction Designer, or related occupation responsible for developing User Interface (UI)-based visual solutions to solve business needs. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section) - must possess the following: designing UX/UI for multiple channels including web, mobile, and/or app using modern best practices; prototyping designs for clients using at least three of the following: Sketch, InVision, Figma, Principle, Framer, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, InDesign and/or AfterEffects; crafting and maintaining design systems and brand language definitions for clients; applying human-centered design methods to create digital products in the service of human needs; creating impactful, high-fidelity experiences using visual design principles including information hierarchy, typography, composition, form, and color; and collaborating with researchers, engineers, business consultants, and fellow designers to challenge collective thinking, iterate, and improve upon outputs.
