Job Description
The Northern Trust Company seeks a Principal, Arch Solutions to design and develop application and infrastructure architectures across multiple technologies and programming languages. Create security patterns, cloud adoption frameworks, target state architecture, and libraries for new and existing software applications. Design, develop, and implement key software application cloud projects. Develop application plans and directions to ensure the integration of corporate business area requirements. Prepare project plans and provide end to end project management activities for cloud migration initiatives. Establish key IT strategies for cloud migration enterprise initiatives and develop IT solutions for business-critical workloads. #LI-DNI
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation. Experience must include a minimum of: 5 years of experience with IT project management and information system architecture methodologies; 5 years of experience working with business users to understand requirements and translate requirements into technical solutions and create system design architecture; 5 years of experience with leading design workshops to discuss and implement common architecture patterns using best practices; 3 years of experience with object-oriented design, DevOps automation, Java, JavaScript, JDBC, jQuery, Log4j, Maven, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Project Management tools, Webservices, XML, CICS, DB2, JCL, and Mainframe COBOL; and 1 year of experience with public cloud database, scripting using JSON or YAML scripting, and migrating servers and services to Azure infrastructure and PaaS solutions.
