JOB SUMMARY

Medline is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Paralegal to join its growing corporate legal department. The Sr. Paralegal will provide substantive and operational support to the legal department, including conducting legal research, responding to external processes including subpoenas, drafting legal documents and performing other related duties including legal project management. This individual will be focused on projects involving multiple business units with an emphasis on improving cross-functional collaboration, process automation and records management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support to commercial attorneys including factual and legal research, as well as drafting and preparing documentation for various legal tasks.

Handle records requests with a high level of organization and promptness.

Manage the legal department's technology portfolio, managing tools and systems to enhance the department's performance and technological capabilities.

Draft internal memos, summaries, reports, and other correspondence.

Support attorneys in resolving complicated legal issues on projects within the legal department and/or other functional areas.

Execute complex projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on corporate restructuring activities, M&A, due diligence, and information requests.

Responsible for support related to litigation, subpoenas, and management of legal hold and eDiscovery activities. Oversee the internal routing of service of processes, ensuring that all legal documents are processed efficiently and accurately.

Oversee law firm billing to ensure accurate and timely financial management, ensuring proper classification and coding of legal expenses across all divisions and corporate groups.

Ability to proactively review and make suggestions to improve processes and workflows within the legal department.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's Degree

ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate

Work Experience

At least five years of substantive experience in a law firm or corporate legal department with increasing levels of responsibility.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and research skills are essential.

Strong understanding of legal procedures and documentation, with an ability to manage complex legal tasks efficiently.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree concentration in Business, Finance, or Operations.

Certification / Licensure

ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Advanced proficiency with MS Word (styles, multi-level numbering, redlining), Adobe Acrobat (split, merge, and redacting), AdobeSign.

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, and able to maintain confidentiality.
