Buyer/Planner

Duration: 3-month contract assignment Pay range: $30-$35/hour (based on experience) Hours: 1st shift position (flexible work schedule) Location: Arlington Heights, IL Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Procurement:

+ Review, prioritize, schedule, and expedite delivery of material components to meet target dates to prevent stock shortages.

+ Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers, including PO issues, pricing, quality and shipping issues, in a prompt and professional manner.

+ Ensure the business has accurate visibility to delivery dates on open material orders from vendors and suppliers.

+ Inventory Management:

+ Develop and implement Inventory reduction projects for supplier base to meet organizational inventory reduction and days on hand (DOH) target levels.

+ Conduct regular inventory reviews by supporting cycle count initiatives to identify slow moving or obsolete inventory and implement strategies to address them by adjusting internal standards for minimums and maximums.

+ Supplier Relationship Management:

+ Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration, improve delivery, quality and drive continuous improvement.

+ Conduct regular supplier reviews and identify opportunities for consolidation, alternate sourcing, or strategic partnerships to help optimize flexibility.

+ Supply Chain Optimization:

+ Support compiling data by proactively managing MRP system, reporting, and completing analysis to improve business processes related to supply chain activities.

+ Partner with the strategic sourcing team to support cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibilities for Import Buyer/Planner Team:

+ International Duties:

+ Buyers planning Ocean Freight may also be tasked with maintaining rates, shipments schedules, and duty/tariff statements.

+ + Schedule, track, and document dropship orders, including appropriate customs paperwork, and sales/customer coordination.

+ Requires expertise on imports/exports, container utilization, customs clearance documentation, and close coordination with Finance and Operations.

Qualifications:

+ + Bachelor’s Degree required (Supply Chain / Finance degree desirable)

+ Bilingual in Spanish and/or Mandarin would be highly desirable

+ 2+ years of experience preferred

+ APICS/CPSM certification a plus
