The OneCard Office is a support service department in the Division of Administration and Finance. Within the OneCard Office we are responsible for providing NIU IDs to students, faculty, staff and other NIU Affiliates. ID's give these individuals access to buildings, and the ability to purchase food on and off campus. OneCard also maintains and run's a Transact system and equipment, which includes Point-of-Sale Registers all over Campus.

This is a part-time (extra help) position to assist the OneCard Office within the IT operations. Schedule would be within the office hours of M-F (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), with occasional start times of 7:30 a.m.

DUTIES
Under direct supervision, assist with installation, testing and connection of card reader equipment and new POS registers.
Troubleshoot OneCard equipment.
Responsible for testing and organizing orientation equipment for front operation.
Assist in processing online student photos in the OneCard Office.
Assist with processing and creating university identification cards (OneCard ID).
Maintain confidentiality of cardholder information.
Assist with answering IT related phone calls and emails.
Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Proficiency with computer skills to perform duties and responsibilities using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and departmental officials/faculty/staff, ensuring positive and professional customer service.
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ability to pay attention to details.
