Project Overview:

Finance Data Engineer will play a key role in creating, maintaining, and governing application support across multiple Finance application like Peoplesoft, SAP , OFSAA and Hyperion.

Major Duties:

  • Conducts feasibility studies, defines and designs system requirements for complex data processing projects.



  • Responsible for handling and resolving production issues, developing enhancements, upgrades, and offer expert advice and direction to business partner.



  • Identify end-to-end scenarios and the impact to sub-systems, interfaces, modules areas of Business process and provide expertise as to critical solutions. Creating prototypes and use cases of recommended solution helping user in visualizing the system.



  • Define the overall solution for large and complex systems during the business requirement gathering process, functional specifications phase and leverage advantages of time zones for its support. Managing execution of solutions and supporting quality assurance processes.



  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on techniques, practices or technologies that would enhance business needs. Also ensures continuous process improvements. Performance tuning of the application to achieve stability. Strong knowledge of SQL programming.



  • Experience in Data warehouse methodologies like chart field/dimension maintenance and Management reporting is a plus.



  • Prepares project phase reports, including requirements, feasibility, definition and design. May also review and validate requirements, definition and design to evaluate production impact and support requirements.



  • Responsible for translating business needs into sound technical solutions. Work closely with the functional staff to determine the appropriate technical solution to client requests for change.



  • Produce detailed technical designs to meet user requirements and development standards. Develops or maintains computer programs including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and installation as needed.



  • Consults with partners from systems and other business units regarding new techniques, practices, or technologies in data processing and the impact of proposed and ongoing projects.



  • Acts as the technical or business consultant on project development/production health, new techniques and the implementation of new processes. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor Analyst level employees.



  • Works on projects and learning/refining project or process management skills



  • More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas. Delivers a work product that requires less revision.



  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.



  • Experience in Microsoft excel...
