We have an exciting role as an Accounting Manager within the Peoria Record-to-Report group at Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to play a critical role in managing areas within the shared services group, providing legal entity support, strategic focus and decision making on financial and transactional applications.

This role will primarily focus on parent company (01) and select manufacturing facilities within shared services, acting as a subject matter expert for those facilities and processes – monthly closing, reporting, analysis and reconciliations.

What You Will Do:

+ Responsibility for closing GBS facilities as well as analysis and presentation of actual results.

+ Responsibility for analysis and support of facilities through accurate and timely reconciliation process.

+ Provides technical guidance and expertise.

+ Leads team in more comprehensive, diverse activities that require interpreting and adhering to U.S. GAAP and Caterpillar’s accounting practices and procedures.

+ Provides guidance and partners with Technical Accounting on business issues of high complexity such as financial reporting requirements for parent company and providing customer requirements analysis.

+ Understanding and championing our shared services model, participating in the development and support of our business strategies.

+ Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures providing guidance to others in the business.

+ Adopt standardize reporting with a focus on lean transformation.

+ Enhance talent and organizational development creating a stronger team; managing, both directly and indirectly, team members within the shared services COE as well as our 3rd party provider.

What You Have:

+ Business Acumen : Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company’s business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

+ Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

+ Organizational Governance: Knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies.

+ Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of “big picture” thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

+ Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.

+ Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

+ Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

Top Candidates Will Have:

+ Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting

+ CPA/CMA

+ 7+ years of accounting experience
