HOW YOU WILL SOAR:

The Leave of Absence Specialist will report to the Benefits Manager in the Human Resources department. This role is responsible for managing all leave activity and ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and applicable state leave programs.

  • Administer and support employee-qualified leave of absence programs such as sick leave, accident leave, short- and long-term disability, FMLA and ADA
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all government regulations and laws
  • Advise employees and management on applicable Company procedures, policies, guidelines, and documentation requirements
  • Monitor and track absence status, documentation, and return to work dates
  • Coordinate with managers to develop modified work scheduling or return to work accommodations connected to a leave of absence
  • Serve as the primary liaison with applicable leave vendors
  • Partner closely with Payroll to ensure employees receive proper payment while out on leave
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure proper tracking of leaves in all systems
  • Work with Benefits Manager to periodically review and update leave policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


IF YOU HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING, APPLY:

  • 2-4 years of experience in employee benefits and leave administration
  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field
  • Knowledge of key employment leave laws including federal and state regulations
  • Goal orientated with a sense of urgency to complete tasks accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with the corporate culture, standards, best practices, policies, procedures, and government law
  • Superb organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
