Job Description Summary
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
The College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University seeks to establish a pool of potential undergraduate adjunct instructors on an ongoing basis to serve as dynamic and student centered educators in service of the following academic disciplines Business Administration.
Focused on experiential learning and active engagement, adjuncts chosen to teach at Lewis will create a charismatic and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds. Adjunct positions at Lewis University are teaching positions and may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an "as needed" basis.
Responsibilities
-Teach course(s) at the main Romeoville campus or online during the weekday or evening
-Prepare course materials, syllabus(ai) and update Blackboard course shells (LMS platform)
-Participate in required trainings and certifications
-Provide support and guidance to students
-Cooperate with department chairs or other program faculty to ensure quality and consistency across the program
Minimum Qualifications
*Master's Degree in a business discipline is required (e.g., Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Management, Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, Master of Science in Organizational Behavior, etc.); possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; all hired adjunct faculty must successfully complete the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program.
Preferred Qualifications
Five+ years in mid to senior management position with demonstrated mastery of the subject matter discipline; prior teaching or training experience; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS); Ph.D. or D.B.A. in business specific discipline.
