What You Can Expect
As our Director of Engineering, you will lead a team of six (6) individuals responsible for designing rooftop and ground-mounted solar Photovoltaic, and battery energy storage installations across ENGIE Northam. In this role, you will work closely with installation contractors, utilities, permitting authorities, clients, and system owners to ensure the complete and compliant design of renewable energy assets. Additionally, you will collaborate with various departments to develop, design, and optimize projects. This position is based in Chicago, IL, and reports to the Director of Engineering & Delivery.

Accountable for creating and maintaining engineering standards for all disciplines within the Distributed Generation engineering team
Establish and enforce quality control for all Engineering deliverables, ensuring overall quality
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to an Engineering organization of over 20 Engineers
Maintain Professional Engineering licenses nationwide and oversee the design of multiple projects simultaneously
Stay updated on new technologies, regulatory conditions, codes, industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements
Advise origination and preconstruction teams during early-stage development, perform diligence activities, and audit contractors for adherence to plans and specifications


What You'll Bring

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in engineering
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a management or leadership role
You are experienced within the energy industry
You are proficient in AutoCAD design software
You have the ability to create, read, and interpret construction plans and specifications
You demonstrate a bias for action and continuous improvement, taking ownership


Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record for use of company vehicle, ability to drive to site locations
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies


Compensation
Salary Range: $146,300 - $214,390 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus
