We have an exciting position open within Caterpillar’s Corporate Treasury team. As a member of the Risk Management Services team, the Senior Finance Specialist – Foreign Exchange supports various FX and Commodity Risk Management activities.

The Senior Finance Specialist FX provides analysis and recommendations on risk exposures, specifically foreign exchange and commodity market risks. The incumbent analyzes and evaluates developments in foreign currencies, commodities, interest rates, and equities; helps develop strategies to manage foreign exchange and commodity price risks; recommends and implements strategies and maintains appropriate documentation; consults with other Caterpillar entities on foreign exchange issues; provides foreign exchange training; covers the risk manager’s responsibilities in their absence.

What You Will Do:

+ Support the production of monthly foreign exchange rates and perform risk analysis; interpret results and maintain rates in the Treasury Management System

+ Manage foreign exchange and commodity price risks: recommend and implement of hedging strategies and support for foreign exchange and commodity forecasts and reporting

+ Utilize existing standard processes and instruments to hedge currencies and commodities using spots, options, and forwards/swaps as part of the foreign exchange and commodity management process

+ Monitor foreign exchange market conditions and other financial derivatives to adjust to market risks when needed

+ Assess financial risks of forecasted transactions using modeling capabilities of in-house applications. Provide training to various entities within regional treasury centers regarding the global FX forecasting process

What You Have:

+ Education/Experience: The position typically requires a college or university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Analytics with at least 18 hours of finance coursework and/or equivalent experience.

+ Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

+ Communicating Complex Concepts : Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

+ Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

+ Financial Markets : Knowledge of the products, types, competitors, customer base, major issues and regulatory considerations in the financial markets; ability to apply financial market knowledge to various business environments.

Top Candidates Will Have:

+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration

+ Prior experience in banking, treasury or corporate finance

+ The primary locations for this role are Peoria, Illinois, Nashville, Tennessee, or Irving, Texas

+ Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

+ Domestic travel up to 25% depending on leader and team locations

+ Flexibility: This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office.
