Description:

Our customer is seeking to hire a Strategic Sourcing Analyst. This role will be working alongside a team of 1 other analyst, but the overall procurement organization is roughly a dozen individuals. The categories falling in scope for this role form a sourcing perspective include T&E, Finance, Legal, Risk, HR. It’s more of a supporting role within the categories outlined helping to support the Sr. Manager of the team. We are seeking someone coming from a corporate background who has truly supported sourcing activities in the past. Some examples of work include tackling RFP’s (compiling responses from vendors into a comprehensive view for stakeholders, running financial analysis on the commercial side, etc.) Running analysis on invoices to ensure accuracy and point out anything out of the ordinary. Other examples including assessing spend and identifying cost savings opportunities in addition to reviewing contracts and determining what needs to be renegotiated. Also, there are some bigger projects inflight including the integration of an MSP which will require quite a bit of process and policy work. There are also key activities inflight around HR, Immigration, Workforce Analytics, Finance (related to tax) and other items associated to travel (car rentals, hotels, etc.) that this person will be involved with also.

This role is required to sit in Downers Grove 3 days per week (no set dates) and the candidate should be open to travel periodically (seems to be very minimal) should they have to go to a conference, training or visit an operating company. In addition, a bachelor’s degree is required. This is a great opportunity to join a global organization with opportunity to advance to Sr. Analyst, to Project Manager to Manager over time (typically every 2-3 years for a promotion).

Scope Of Responsibilities

- Quantitative profile development, data analysis and support for strategic sourcing projects (supplier research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, etc)

- Qualitative profile development and analysis (executive summaries, exhibit creation, etc)

- Monthly/quarterly reporting of KPIs (savings tracking, price variances, quality, delivery, inventory)

- Manage and maintain group data (agreements, project results, supplier communication, etc)

- Other ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned

- Knowledge of MRO products and supplies, Packaging, machining and fabrication OEM equipment, and/or Professional Services categories a plus

- Extensive MS Office Knowledge – ability to create and manipulate datasets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education

- Bachelor degree and/or Graduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Science, or Engineering.

Experience, training or education in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, data analysis, project management and/or procurement processes

- Work experience in a manufacturing company a plus

- Strong proficiency in all MS Office applications; advanced word processing and database skills a plus

- Professional Procurement, Supply Chain and Project Management certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP, etc.) a plus

Experience

Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in at least one (and ideally more) of the following areas: Procurement, supply chain, engineering / technical, manufacturing operations, management consulting, logistics, project management. Recent graduates with strong manufacturing supply chain internship experience will also be considered.
