Job Description

The Rating & Quoting Supervisor is responsible for leading the Group Insurance Rating and Quoting teams. These teams perform rating and quoting for all Requests for Proposal (RFPs), sold case finalization and requotes as well as plan change options. This includes creation and delivery of initial and final quotes directly to our brokers/clients, leveraging internal and region-specific guidelines for producing market competitive quotes for all opportunities 2 – 499 lives.

The Rating and Quoting Supervisor will work closely with all levels of sales management, Sales Reps, Sales Support Staff and Underwriting to provide timely, accurate, competitive quotes. The position will manage approximately 12-15 Rating staff and must work within the division to manage results in a high volume, tight turnaround environment.

The Rating and Quoting Supervisor must possess strong leadership and partnership skills to ensure long-term success. The Rating and Quoting division is a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline driven environment. As such, the Supervisor is required to effectively manage high volumes while managing the growth and development of the unit through the successful integration of people, processes, data management, information, and systems. The ability to mix operational functionality and a front-line sales contact/relationship with our end customer is critical .

You will:

+ Provide oversight and management of all units consisting of Rating Analysts, which includes directing their day-to-day activities; establishing individual, team and department objectives that are aligned with customer expectations; managing performance and developing team skill sets and competencies.

+ Implement and maintain consistent procedures and metrics, increase productivity of team through process and performance improvement management, foster teamwork through leadership, and positively impact broker satisfaction, sales revenue, faster quote turn-around times and rating/quoting accuracy.

+ Build and maintain key partnerships with sales management, Sales Reps, Sales Support management, Brokers, CSD management, Underwriting and other key stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Product, IT, etc.) to ensure that all Rating, Quoting and Requoting activities are effectively performed and facilitate and improve the sales process, drive sales partnerships with brokers, deliver sales results and assure accurate and financially sound rating practices.?????????

You have:

+ College degree or equivalent work experience required

+ Group insurance experience required

+ People management experience preferred

+ Experience in Customer Service, Call Center, and Data Entry management

+ Ability to manage remote staff in multiple locations

+ Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills

+ Extreme detail and accuracy management skills are critical

+ Excellent organizational, workflow and presentation skills are necessary, as is the ability to deal with individuals at all levels

Location:

+ Preferred locations for this position include Guardian’s Offices in Bethlehem, PA and Boston, MA. Work arrangement will be hybrid (2+ days per week in office; 3 days per week working from home).

+ Will also consider applicants from other U.S. locations.

+ Travel to Guardian offices and/or sales meeting as needed.

Salary Range

$66,130.00 – $108,640.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
