Director, Technical Program Management- Site Reliability Engineering (Remote Eligible)

About the team: As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) on Capital One's Enterprise product & platform organization, we're looking for someone who has strong technical aptitude, experience of driving large scale enterprise initiatives in the data management and engineering space and ability to influence leaders as well as cross functional teams that include engineers, product managers and architects.
In addition to the technical program, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, by leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.
Our TPM Directors have:
Experience working in the areas of data engineering, data analytics and data governance.
Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable data platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle
Hands on data analytics experience building reports and KPIs.
Experience building and leading a world-class team of technical program managers with a mission to power real-time, intelligent experiences for our customers and associates
Lead technology focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisions
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker
Experienced TPM leader to grow and develop a team of TPMs, while also building the foundations for the TPM practice
Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results
Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners

Basic Qualifications
At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering and Observability
7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
5+ years of experience with data analytics or machine learning.
5+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services and architecture (AWS)
5+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms
5+ years of experience with Agile delivery
5+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact
5+ years of experience in building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
