Description:

Position Summary:
The Graduate Assistant for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Innovation (OVCI) supports the OVCI program and outreach staff in efforts to deliver OVCI strategic initiatives and to engage UIC students and faculty to increase opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship at UIC.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide outreach support, including recruiting students, publicizing programs and activities to campus and public constituencies, and working with/assisting with event management.
Support the development and execution of programs in alignment with OVCI program goals.
Participate and assist with coordination for OVCI outreach initiatives and events.
Represent OVCI with student groups on campus to build support for initiatives.
Assist with tracking program/project data and deliver regular updates and recommendations to senior management. Communicate with stakeholders noting risks and overall performance.
Support event planning, coordination, and communication for program events.
Perform other related duties and assist and participate with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


Candidate must be a full-time, degree-seeking student in a graduate program
Interest in program development, outreach, and event coordination
Punctuality, reliability, and consistency
Excellent interpersonal skills and an interest in developing working relationships with campus groups.
Proven ability to organize and provide accurate, detail-oriented work.
Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner.
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

Public speaking and presentation skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience with event coordination
