Position Overview

The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying and addressing customer needs, building strong relationships, and providing accurate and complete information. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
  • Recommend possible products to meet the customers’ needs
  • Refer issues and questions to managers if necessary
  • Meet personal/customer service team sales targets and calls
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Frequently communicates with customers and sales reps via phone, email and in person
  • Maintain a positive attitude and calmly respond to customers’ complaints
  • Prepare product and customer reports by gathering data collected during customer interactions
  • Answer phones in a polite, professional, and courteous manner
  • Enter/import order information into computer, data entry
  • Contact Sales Reps to clarify order requests
  • Review previous order history to assist with new order requests
  • Perform quality control and notify appropriate party if a discontinued item is ordered
  • Generate Order Acknowledgments
  • Address potential problems in processing
  • Assist in reception duties including answering the phone and directing customer calls and visitors
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven customer support experience or experience as a Customer Service Representative
  • Strong phone skills and active listening
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Knowledge of applicable products and markets
  • Strong understanding of ESCNJ, HCESC, Ed-Data NJ Cooperatives and the bidding process
  • Knowledge of Basic Excel
  • High level of attention to detail and an ability to work under time pressure are essen
