Senior Manager, Business Data Systems job responsibilities include:
Develop and implement a data governance roadmap, providing regular progress reports.
Manage data governance initiatives and projects involving upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
Collaborate with data owners and custodians to establish and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures to enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies.
Implement data governance strategy across business groups, providing guidance on maximizing the value of data assets.
Communicate the business value of data governance and data quality efforts across the organization.
Promote organizational change in line with data governance policies.
Identify and manage the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
Resolve end-to-end issues related to data governance arising from different departments.
Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis related to data issues, identifying potential improvements.
Oversee data-related business requirements to ensure clear communication and understanding.
Manage the organizational data dictionary and business glossary.
Ensure adherence to the enterprise data governance framework for data practices, policies, and standards at both technical and functional levels.
Develop and lead the Center of Data Excellence (COE), an organization-wide initiative focused on master data governance.
Understand current business process architecture and trends affecting clients, markets, and technology within the CPG industry.
Develop project charters in collaboration with business sponsors.
Coordinate with architects to understand industry trends, platform limitations, and priorities to advise the business on implications.
Position Requirements:
Advanced Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
8-12 years of experience in IT, preferrably in data governance, technology, or related fields.
Understanding of best practices relating to data governance, data quality, and process design.
Knowledge of end-to-end business processes in similar business environments.
Understanding of database technology, integration, and usage.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships while managing expectations.
Ability to resolve issues, foster collaboration, and manage conflict.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with peers and senior-level management.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience working in an outsourced environment and leading business supporting strategy development.
Your Compensation:
$106,370-138,292/yr. based upon relevant experience.
