That's why we're looking for a Senior IP Docketing Specialist to lead the support for all trademark docketing and quality control functions, processing of client, foreign associate, and foreign and domestic Patent and Trademark Office communications, oversee client transitions from a docketing perspective, generate simple and complex client reports, and manage special projects.
This position has flexibility to work remotely 100% of the time.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for...
Serving as Project Manager and Docketing Department point of contact for client transitions, including intakes and outgoing transfers
Reviewing and triaging incoming IP files, audit file histories and docket bibliographic details and accompanying deadline information in docketing system
Generating and proofing routine and special docket reports for quality assurance, including general docket reports, daily audit reports, status reports, discrepancy reports, annuity reports, etc.
Coordinating work schedule with IP Docketing Specialists and assisting team members, including serving as backup to Docketing Managers as needed
Identifying and providing suggestions for addressing workflow and data discrepancies
Reviewing foreign and domestic patent and trademark filing information for accuracy and completeness, and updating docket records appropriately
Analyzing and discerning pertinent information in client, foreign agent, and attorney correspondence to correctly update docketing system
Assisting in developing, drafting, and testing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) used by the Docketing Department
Participating in clearing daily critical docket entries; clearing/advancing non-critical entries according to established defaults

A minimum of five years extensive IP Trademark docketing experience, including proficient knowledge of foreign and domestic Trademark legal concepts and practices, including experience docketing foreign and domestic contentious matters as well as copyright, customs recordation, domain name registrations, and UDRP proceedings
Working knowledge using and maintaining common IP docketing systems; proficient knowledge of Trademark docketing procedures and workflows
Advanced proficiency in utilizing foreign and domestic Patent and/or Trademark Office websites and other paid database platforms to conduct research and locate data
Advanced proficiency with evaluating patent and/or trademark file histories with strong ability to audit Trademark records to verify critical details
CPi software experience highly desired; Patent and/or Trademark Paralegal experience and Project Management certification or training, desired
Experience with TTAB procedures desired
Ability to work independently in an electronic environment while also working collaboratively as part of a high-functioning team
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with attorneys and all levels of business professionals within the firm
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
