Job Description

The Group: Our Data Licensing and Compliance team is the part of our Enterprise division that delivers market data for millions of instruments traded in markets worldwide, representing a full range of asset classes. We supply this data both internally to Morningstar products and externally to clients, supporting the need for fast, reliable market information in a variety of formats and time intervals.

The Role: The Data Compliance Analyst will work in the Data Licensing Compliance team who are responsible for data compliance, global client data entitlements and exchange & third party reporting.
The role is entry level/early career and will be internal, client and exchange facing.

The Data Compliance Analyst will be based in Chicago and report to the Head of Data Partnerships.

Responsibilities
Provide monthly exchange & third-party reporting.
Educate/advise potential and existing clients advise on exchange compliance policies and exchange license fees.
Manage Application Compliance Manager (ACM) by communicating with Morningstar teams globally, maintaining annual attestations regarding market data, indexes, identifiers, rating, and news, reducing audit risk exposure, and minimizing costs.
Assist clients in securing the required exchange licenses/approvals, these include; datafeed licenses for sub-vendors, derived data creation and distribution, hosted solutions, internal display and non-display use etc.; and exchange sign-up agreements for professional and non-professional users etc.
Manage exchange feed change projects that affect internal & external clients.
Advising Morningstar's affiliates on compliance issues and exchange protocols.
Preparation of analysis reports for exchange audits.
Preparation of reports to internal clients.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in any business discipline
0-2 years experience, preferably with a business background
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable with a wide of range of applications

Preferred
Market data administration experience
Knowledge of MDSL, or other market data permissioning systems
Knowledge of exchange & third-party reporting.
Knowledge of financial markets.
Knowledge of Windows-based applications.
Strong Excel and Word skills.
Ability to manage demanding deadlines, expectations and re-prioritize.
