Role Summary:
They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web Developer to join their dynamic Web team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with WordPress and WooCommerce, as well as proficiency in developing dynamic JavaScript interfaces with some experience with React-based applications. Their team operates in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating closely with UX/UI designers, a CMS manager, and a product team to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with their strategic goals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work as a team member to maintain and improve WordPress and WooCommerce sites, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Work as a team member to develop, and implement dynamic JavaScript interfaces to enhance user experience and functionality utilizing existing design elements/code blocks when possible.
- Create reusable blocks that empower business users to effortlessly deploy landing pages within WordPress.
- Serve as a backup to maintain React-based applications, integrating them seamlessly with existing systems and platforms (requires familiarity with React).
- Collaborate with UX/UI team to translate wireframes and mockups into responsive web interfaces
- Work closely with the CMS manager to ensure content management workflows are efficient and effective; supplement duties as necessary
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Coordinate release cycles with the product team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and user requirements
- Work with project and product managers to properly size projects to set expectations for stakeholders that can be met
- Collaborate with the Data Operations team to transmit events to the dataLayer through a combination of PHP and JavaScript.
- Collaborate closely with UX testing personnel to guarantee the accurate execution of any required A/B tests
- Offer insights on the feasibility of tasks within the current systems and suggest potential solutions that may not have been considered
- Maintain multiple development branches in Github codebase for Wordpress template and plugins
- Deploy code to various environments for the purpose of testing and stakeholder reviews
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web development
