Culture at Intrinsic: We believe that a strong student culture focused on learning and mutual respect between students and adults is foundational to a strong school. Teachers at Intrinsic consistently implement a school-wide behavior system designed to create such a culture. Our Academic Model: Our academic model is unique and creates a very different and exciting place to work. We provide diverse types of learning experiences such as Socratic seminars, small group instruction, hands-on labs and collaborative student projects. Team teaching is core to our model. All math, ELA and Spanish teachers teach in teams where they plan together and work with students in larger spaces. Teachers in other subjects are expected to plan collaboratively and often co-teach to support our special education and ESL students. We use technology to personalize learning and to help students make deeper connections to content. As a result of this structure, teachers are able to better assess and meet individual student needs. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Dean:

+ Assist with classroom removals/breaks, bathroom escorts, and early dismissal escorts

+ Present for breakfast, lunch, in-between class transitions, arrival, and dismissal; as scheduled by AP of Culture

+ In collaboration with Restorative Practice Coordinator and Deans, own and run restorative opportunities for students: including detentions and other interventions

+ Ensure students complete classroom reflections after a removal; review reflection with student; give to MS or HS Dean for next steps

+ Assist with restorative conversations between student and teacher after a removal as needed

+ Lead or Assist mediation sessions between students and delegate mediation sessions as needed

+ Attend and lead parent meetings as needed

+ Follows up with students after detention and report back to HS or MS Dean

+ Attend school events as needed (dances, prom, etc)

+ Adhere to all investigation protocol; Ensure students complete incident reports. Submit all reports and notes to the MS or HS Dean to complete proper documentation.

+ Be sure to log all interactions in PowerSchool, to include phone calls, emails, mediations, restorative conversations, etc.

+ Fulfills some duties of HS and MS Dean when they are out of the building

+ Model respectful, professional relationships, and promote a collegial school climate

+ Uphold the SCC

+ Assist Middle School and High School Deans as needed for all other events and duties as assigned
