Job Summary

Director, Kilts Center Programs and Engagement is the senior most member of the Kilts Center's programs team, working to ensure that a long-term strategy and diverse set of programs and initiatives are designed and executed to successfully reach our mission. This role will be broadly responsible for oversight of programs designed to support Booth students, alumni, and faculty pursuing marketing-related careers. The Director will drive the evolution of new programs and generate ideas for how to scale existing programs. To accomplish these goals, the Director will build and steward relationships with alumni and internal partners. The role helps drive the Center's programming and engagement strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Based on the high-level objectives that have been established, builds out a strategy and tactics for the Center's career-focused programs and lead execution, in collaboration with Booth Career Services. Hones existing programs and expands into new programs, especially those that can be accessed virtually.
  • In close collaboration with the Center's Executive Director, builds out a strategy and related tactics for the Center's programs that support student, alumni, and faculty programs which offer opportunities for MBA students to explore, recruit, and prepare for marketing-related roles across industries; supports alumni who value and practice Booth's unique, scientific approach to marketing and how this approach helps businesses drive growth; fosters and expands the marketing community of students, alumni, and internal partners; and develops priorities, allocates resources, assesses impact, and determines project direction based on the Center's program goals.
  • Directs execution of all Kilts Center programs and manages related budgets.
  • Leads the Kilts Fellows program for current MBA students by designing and executing co-curricular programming; serving as a primary contact and advocate for this cohort; driving outreach to alumni Kilts Fellows who help mentor and support current students, working with the Center's communications lead to build further awareness of this MBA scholarship program; collaborating with Admissions and other internal partners to continue to recruit high-quality applicants nationally and globally; building out engagement opportunities for the alumni network; and serving as a resource and advisor.
  • Directs the Center's relationships with alumni around the globe and stewards financial contributions as well as gifts of time and thought leadership.
  • Acts as a Center spokesperson, introducing guest speakers and delivering Kilts' key messaging to a variety of audiences.
  • Through close collaboration with the Executive Director, develops tools to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the Kilts Center's programs portfolio.
  • Manages other ad hoc projects.
  • Uses specialized depth knowledge and breadth of experience to recommend concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs.
  • Markets student activities programming throughout the year. Develops and implements protocols for evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:
  • Master's degree.

Experience:
  • A minimum eight years of experience managing large-scale projects, developing programs and overseeing event execution.
  • Background in higher education.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including developing strategic plans against a vision and engage stakeholders from multiple organizations to achieve plans.
  • Previous experience leading a team and driving result through the work of others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills, characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write well.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders, build and steward relationships, and adapt to working with students, alumni, staff, faculty, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to seek out, coordinate, and appropriately disseminate information.

Working Conditions
  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
  • Travel between Hyde Park campus and downtown Chicago.
  • Occasional travel domestically and internationally, including but not limited to On Board conferences.
  • Flexibility to work late or start early for events, as well as attend events on weekends.
