Maintenance Technician 3rd Shift

Job Description

As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you will provide industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise and be part of a team focused on maximizing equipment utilization and efficiency. Your role will include developing and implementing processes to maintain proper utilization and functionality of equipment, focusing on the application of knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated equipment. You will rectify electro-mechanical faults, resolve PLC related issues, and provide expert knowledge and assistance to customer sites in your assigned area. Responsibilities also include responding to emergency calls, tracking and recording problems, setting up and calibrating precision automation equipment, and training customer’s maintenance teams as required.

Skills

+ Rectify electro-mechanical faults and specialist technical assistance as a support technician

+ Respond to emergency calls on Customer sites

+ Be safety conscious in all activities, demonstrate a track record of owning problems and promote successful completion of the tasks

+ Provide first-class response to Customer, ensuring as reasonably and practical as possible a first-time right policy

+ Provide emergency breakdown and specialist maintenance support

+ Handle set up and calibration of precision automation equipment

+ Create strong effective working relationships with Customer and their operational agents to enable Knapp to provide superior service

+ Achieve performance in terms of expected output, speed of response, quality of repair and standards of workmanship

+ Train customer’s maintenance team as required

+ Provide experience and expertise in the installation of conveyor and precision automation equipment

+ Maintain quality of service by ensuring effective communication with customers

+ Ensure that reports are well written and legible

Job Type

This is a permanent position on 3rd shift.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Work Environment

Climate-controlled automation warehouse environment. The role involves a mix of 30-50% administrative and 50% technical tasks. Weekend work and overtime may be required depending on workload. Occasional travel is required, and candidates must have or be able to obtain a passport. Physical activities may include sitting, squatting, walking, reaching, lifting between 50-100 pounds.
