Job Title: Consultant
Offered Wage: $144,560.00/year
Location: This position is fully remote and reports to TRC Solutions' office in Chicago, IL; candidates may work from a home office anywhere in the United States.
Duties: Develops custom applications using Magik for GE Smallworld, Electric Office, PNI, and PowerOn applications. Performs requirement gathering, analysis, estimation, development, and implementation for geographic information systems (GIS) applications. Monitors design, building, testing, and deployment solutions on the GE Smallworld platform. Installs and configures Smallworld products, including Smallworld Core Spatial Technology (SW CST), Electric Office (EO), Physical Network Inventory (PNI), and PowerOn. Supports GE Smallworld applications and coordinates with clients. Provides support to Electric Office and PowerOn GIS applications. Supports the implementation of moderate to complex projects based on GE Smallworld products.

Education & Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer (or closely related occupation) supporting and implementing GIS software solutions and integrations, and resolving customer issues related to the GE Smallworld product suite and web applications.
Or, alternatively:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Developer (or closely related occupation) supporting and implementing GIS software solutions and integrations, and resolving customer issues related to the GE Smallworld product suite and web applications.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated expertise (DE) customizing GIS applications using the GE Smallworld product suite, including PowerOn Restore (POR), Electric Office (EO), Physical Network Inventory (PNI), and Gas Distribution Office (GDO);

DE performing system installations and configurations, and preparing and executing scripts to establish external database connections with the Smallworld database;

DE integrating Smallworld POR with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems;

DE developing custom modules to support GE Smallworld applications leveraging Magik programming, PL/SQL, and .NET; and,

DE monitoring application performance, fine-tuning code, and designing new features for Smallworld applications.
