Sodexo School Services seeks a dynamic General Manager/Chef Manager to fill a key leadership role in maintaining an exceptionally high level of standards for Wesclin Community Unit School District in Trenton, Illinois. The successful candidate will be able to make a significant impact within a short time frame, since this is a 44 week position. Child nutrition experience required.

The General Manager/Chef Manager will drive systems, programs and procedures within the assigned unit, working to ensure menu, recipe compliance, food quality, presentation and marketing are in place and driving comp sales growth. Build brand integrity through superior execution, food quality and efficiency of operations. Focus on employee routines / behaviors to ensure safety is top of mind for everyone.

+ have oversight of day-to-day operations;

+ deliver high quality food service;

+ achieve company and client financial targets and goals;

+ develop and maintain client and customer relationships;

+ develop strategic plans;

+ create a positive environment;and/or

+ ensure Sodexo standards are met.

+ have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;

+ have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;

+ can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;

+ prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and/or

+ demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) The Market Connection (TMC) and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience. This does not apply to external candidates.

Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience – 2 years
