THE POSITION

Electrical Engineer, Continental Tire The Americas, LLC., Mt. Vernon, IL:

Design, budget, procure, install, and commission electrical projects in the Truck Tire Extrusion Department. Ensure that projects align with production requirements and financial feasibility. Participate in meetings with vendors and contractors to resolve engineering project issues. Assist the Maintenance Department in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues. Responsible for, but not limited to, all Machines and Equipment in the Truck Tire Extruding, Calandering, StockPrep, and Beads departments, including ensuring the necessary production output while meeting safety and quality standards of the equipment. Maintain and update all electrical drawings, prints, and documentation in AutoCAD Electrical and Eplan (Software). Organize and coordinate training programs for production and maintenance teams. Support and Training on Machine and Equipment Controls. Ensure teams are equipped to operate and maintain new and existing electrical systems.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $96,265.00 - $102,670.00.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

• Siemens or Rockwell automation systems, including drives, PLCs, and IPCs (Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, Rockwell RSLogix 5, or RSLogix 5000); and
• AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN software.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:

• Industrial electrical engineering or manufacturing, in tire or rubber manufacturing;
• Quality measurement systems including Profilometers, metal detectors, laser measurement systems, and weight and length measurement devices;
• IPC Software Version Management and IPC Backup Systems (VersionDog or Acronis); and
• Capital project execution and equipment troubleshooting for manufacturing equipment.
