We are seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to support Financial Education and Outreach Services, with a focus on financial aid advising and financial literacy. Reporting to the Financial Education & Outreach Coordinator, this role assists with financial aid advising, the Student Support Fund, basic needs support, and financial education initiatives. Responsibilities include delivering financial literacy workshops, creating inclusive educational materials, promoting resources through events and digital platforms, and executing targeted outreach campaigns. The advisor also tracks data, follows up with students, provides front-line support, and processes financial aid documents using the Student Information System (Banner). This position is ideal for someone passionate about helping students navigate the financial aid process and make informed financial decisions.

Supports financial education initiatives through Financial Education & Financial Aid Outreach, including workshops, seminars, classroom presentations, and one-on-one sessions to help students understand financial aid, budgeting, credit, debt management, and overall financial wellness.

Collaborate with Financial Education & Outreach team to design and implement outreach efforts focused on financial aid, scholarships, student support funding, and community-based support resources.

Provide individualized financial aid counseling to students and families, ensuring clear communication about aid eligibility, options, and processes.

Review student and parent documentation to determine financial aid eligibility and ensure timely, accurate processing of aid applications.

Perform course audits to ensure that aid is only processed for classes that are required for a student's degree.

Assist with preparing required reports and responding to audits from federal and state agencies; ensure compliance with all applicable financial aid regulations.

Contribute to the development and dissemination of outreach materials related to scholarships, financial literacy, and basic needs support.

Assists with the collection and evaluation of feedback from financial education and outreach initiatives to assess program impact and improve student support efforts.

Additional expectations:

Maintain periodic office hours at branch campuses.

Attend professional workshops to remain current in the field.

Serve on institutional committees.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field required.

One year of related employment experience, including student outreach and workshop design, student coaching, or customer service.

Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs is preferred.

Comfortable presenting to varying size audiences.

MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work closely and confidentially with students.

Good organizational skills.

The ability to work independently and creatively.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and offsite events.
