Department: Springfield Convention and Visitors

In this role you will:
● Sell and promote Springfield as a destination for conventions, meetings, and events. Achieve assigned sales activity and room nights sales goals, which are reviewed quarterly and annually.
● Prepare customized bid proposals and conduct bid presentations to board of directors, convention delegates, or site selection committees.
● Generate leads and send qualified sales leads to hotels and convention facilities advising them of dates and other requirements. Connect with meeting planners in existing and new markets. Travel to trade shows, sales missions, and network to solicit convention business.
● Maintain a well-informed working knowledge of all hotels, facilities, sites, and attractions available in the area as well as knowledge of competitors products and promotions.
● Research and collect appropriate information on target markets to quality leads and plan an effective sales approach. Create and maintain client base in the assigned markets.
