Job Description
QPS Employment Group has a great CNC Set-Up Technician position available at a company in Fenton, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.
CNC Set-Up Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations.
- Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder.
- Position and secure work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures.
- Move controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut.
- Set up fixture, starts machine.
- Read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
- Observe operation of machine and verify conformity of machined work piece to specifications.
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Follow all Company rules and safety policies.
- Discuss errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
