Position Summary:
The Department of Medical Sciences in the School of Education and Health Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a visiting professor of Physician Assistant Studies, beginning Fall 2022 or Spring 2023, rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. This 12-month, full-time visiting professor position is open immediately. This member will work collaboratively with Program Director, Medical Director and Didactic and Clinical Directors in the in the implementation of the MSPAS curriculum and recruitment of clinical sites. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in both the didactic and clinical year, in accordance with accreditation standards. Recruitment, selection, instruction, assessment, remediation and academic advisement of MSPAS students will be essential components of this position. This candidate will provide high-quality medical educational service to both internal and external constituents of the MSPAS Program North Central College. This visiting professor position has the possibility of conversation to an ongoing position or renewal.
Qualifications: Terminal degree (e.g. PA-C, MD, DO) required; physicians must be board-certified, and all candidates must current unencumbered license in the State of Illinois, and experience in the education of physician assistant or medical students. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
