Farnsworth Group is seeking a Job Captain in either our Lisle, IL or Chicago, IL office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to market and manage multi-disciplinary teams for a wide range of projects including large commercial office and retail developments, K-12 and higher education projects, healthcare projects, recreation and community centers. You will also assist in growing and supervising a dynamic architectural staff, while also working alongside and obtaining support from our strong national architectural team.
Job Activities:
+ Assist with technical planning and execution of projects from inception through completion
+ Assist the client/project manager with the development of project proposals, cost, and scope
+ Participate in client presentations and/or meetings
+ Manage multidiscipline projects including managing budgets, team communication, and coordination of construction documents, while supervising and directing work of others.
+ Prepare the design and construction documents using the appropriate standards and work directly with consultants. Understands the relationship between drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
+ Coordinate the specification component of contract documents and assists in the development of probable construction cost estimates
+ Support project managers with construction administration tasks such as attending OAC meetings, writing reports, taking minutes, reviewing shop drawings and submittals
Specific Requirements include:
+ Bachelor’s Degree Architecture, required, Masters, preferred
+ 4 -7 years of experience in architecture
+ Proficient use of Revit required as well as computer graphic and 3D modeling experience
+ Experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, preferred
+ Digital rendering skills, a plus
